Recently, we launched our second version of Sheridan School’s site, an independent, progressive K-8 school in Washington, D.C. The new version represents a substantial facelift from the original site, which we launched in 2010. The move is not just a simple content management switch from Drupal to WordPress, but also a comprehensive makeover for the school’s site that serves as an extension of the school’s palpable vibrancy and spirit.
Sheridan School’s mission is to create an “inclusive, vibrant learning community.” We feel that a site that complements Sheridan’s values is only fitting.
With this mission, we created a site that captured the brightness of the culture that Sheridan nurtures. The colorful design reflects the truly unique environment that Sheridan has – a lively and even glowing one. The hope is for any parent exploring Sheridan for their children to be welcomed with warmth and assurance of Sheridan’s Mission.
Sheridan seeks to “inspire self-knowledge, intellectual discipline and personal integrity in their community members.” With two campuses (one in the city and one in the mountains), there is always a drive in Sheridan to live the ideal of respect for oneself, others and the environment.
In addition to the lively new look and feel, the site features the latest in CMS development, leveraging WordPress on the progresive Roots/Bedrock stack. The final product is truly a combination of front-end and back-end wizardry.
Sheridan is truly a “small school with a big story” and now they have a great site to go with it. Check them out!
